The Wonder of Pex

I've been putting off the task of moving the copper plumbing for a while now. The space between the joists, and over the walls, is so tight that the soldering process was going to be very tricky. This is when Pex became a much better alternative. The flexible piping was able to be bent and fed through the joists rather than notching the joists for straight copper. With just six push fittings and 20' of Pex, the job was done, pressure tested, and there are no leaks so far.

Looks like it's a good tidy job, Rodney. Well done you two.

I'm so excited to see the outcome! I think we may need a consult back at the F-S ranch as I fantasize about redoing our kitchen (truly a fantasy right now...)

does this mean that you invested in one of those Pex tools? If so, we may need to borrow it in the future :) Keep up the hard work, can't wait to see the finished product!

Andrea - We considered using a pex tool and standard pex fittings. Since we didn't need too many fittings we went with the push on type instead. They work with copper and pex and they are removable. They are easy to fit and I think the seal is as good as any other option.
