We decided to get away from New Haven for a weekend. Jen did some research online and found a farm in Vermont that looked good. It's not very busy this time of year so we were able to book the day before we intended to stay there.

St. Paddy's Day Parade
Here is a selection of photographs from last week's parade here in New Haven.
I have just realized that out of all these photos there isn't a single one that is distinctly Irish. On the other hand the parade is so big that it takes about three hours for all the bands, dance troupes, clubs, schools, military divisions and vehicles to make their way past.
The star wars costumes have actually become a highlight of the parade for many. Darth Vader doesn't seem too happy to have his photo taken. He's either pointing or trying to choke me with his telekinetic powers. He had about ten stormtroopers behind him and Boba Fett was there too.

Guitar Build - Days 7, 8 & 9
I knew that it would take a while. It took 3 days to carve the guitar top. A total of about 8 hours carving with a combination of a spoke shave, wood files and an orbital sander did the job. I think my next guitar will have a flat top though because it was quite frustrating at times.
The next step will be a big one. Using a router I will carve out the cavities for the electronics. I'll probably end up taking about a third of the body weight out.
