It's that time of year again and our first camping trip of the season. Macedonia Brook has been one of our favorite camping spots in the north west of Connecticut, about an hour and a half from New Haven. On Saturday evening we set up camp not long before a large thunderstorm passed over us and there was a torrential downpour for about half an hour. Our shelter bore the storm well and we still managed to get the fire going even though the fire pit had a puddle in it.
By Sunday morning everything had dried up and the weather was perfect for some hiking. There was also a spot of orienteering to be done. This stream running through the park is usually pretty dry but the storm had filled it up
