Cheshire Memorial Day Parade

2 comments:
The whole family took a trip to watch the parade here in Cheshire. It was a hot sunny day, so we brought an umbrella for some shade. It turns out that Rowan really liked the bands. He would shout and flail his arms and legs about as they passed by. Sophie was more interested in the other people sitting near by, than watching the parade. An Irish wolfhound came by and that got her attention.
We really want a VW camper like this one.
There were plenty of tractors
The Milford Shriners were out once again in their tiny cars
A nicely restored 1950's military Jeep.
And the Irish Wolfhound. We're not sure why Sophie wasn't asked to participate

There's some serious junk in this trunk.  Actually, there's probably all sorts of junk in there.  Better go change the nappy I think.

Roly Poly

All babies develop at different rates.  And babies tend to have certain areas where they excel and others where they are a little behind.  The Wee Yin has learned to roll over from his tummy to his back at only 3.5 months, and seems close to rolling from back to tummy as well, which I thought was quite early.

Then, lest I get cocky about how developmentally advanced our child is, he starts trying to latch onto my nose when he's hungry.  Or I catch him trying to get the binky in his mouth like this:

Thanks, Grandma, for my cardigan!

Waiting for Milkies

1 comment:
I've noticed that Rowan progresses through various levels of disgruntlement (is that even a word?)* depending on how long he has to wait for the milkies. You can tell he's getting hungry when he starts gnawing on his own hands but generally the wait begins quite patiently. If Mummy is not fast enough, however, things can quickly turn ugly.

Hmm, milkies would be nice
Sure would like some milkies
Um, hello?  Mummy?
Mummy?!?
I SAID... milkies would be nice
Mummy?  Daddy?  Anyone?
Need.  The.  Milkies.
MILKIES!!!
Thank you.  :)
* Turns out it is a word. I looked it up. Who knew?

I Will Eat You, Dinosaur

1 comment:
Rowan is starting to grab at things and is able to hold small objects for a while. Today I gave him his dinosaur rattle to hold and shake but he was more interested in eating it. Looks super tasty. Thanks, Auntie Erin!!
